Jamie has a strong and varied background in commercial negotiation through a 30-year career in international equities and currency trading. As a sports coach, he knows how to motivate and challenge individuals and teams to realise their potential and achieve more. His ability to inspire youngsters to stretch themselves in the sporting arena is transposed into his professional life. He believes that communication is key to successful persuasion and influencing and that people and companies get better outcomes if they implement ENSI’s negotiation model and systematic preparation process.
Before joining ENSI Jamie, as a stockbroker, negotiated significant equity trading positions on behalf of some of the world’s largest institutions. These include Fidelity Investments; JP Morgan; Invesco/Perpetual; Blackrock and Schroders whilst working for global banks such as Barclays Capital, UBS, ABN Amro and SE Bank. He traded cash equities on the NYSE, NASDAQ, the LSE and most European exchanges living and working in London and New York.
Jamie’s hands-on experience of working in international trading adds commerciality to his approach in helping his clients get more of what they want whilst having a positive impact on their profitability and bottom line. His practical insights from managing transactional negotiations commonly worth over hundreds of millions of dollars give him a deep understanding of how to manage high-risk negotiations.
Jamie is an accredited video practitioner with ENS and strongly believes in the added value clients get from using this medium to enhance outcomes both within workshops, in post-workshop follow-up and one-to-one coaching /mentoring.
